DID YOU EVER BELIEVE? WERE YOU EVER A DREAMER? - ever imagined heart open and free - Alice in Wonderland. Alice had fallen down the rabbit hole and ended up in Wonderland with the Red Queen and Mad Hatter. Well, in her mind, Lilyanna felt like she had taken the place of Alice. Except in the fact that she didn’t fall down a rabbit hole and that her name wasn’t Alice. Oh, and she didn’t wear a blue dress or have blonde hair. No, she was completely different that the Alice seen in the movies. Although, nonetheless her experience seemed to be similar to the character of the story.
It was still strange that she had found this magical place. From time to time, Lily had to pinch herself just to make sure that she really was here and that she wasn’t dreaming. However, she wasn’t going to touch anything on her trips. She didn’t know what was poisonous and what was safe. A nature guide from her modern realm would do her no good here. However, she wasn’t about to go around asking for directions or what each plant was. There were strange creatures here, ones that people only saw in the movies, read in books, or saw in their dreams, or nightmares depending on who you were.
For Lilyanna, this was a place to let her artistic talent come to life. Everything had its own unique beauty to it. Even those places that were dark and dangerous held their own mystery just begging to be solved. Granted the girl was curious, but she didn’t know the dangers of this world and decided to keep the curious kitten inside her tucked away until she knew what she was doing or had somehow managed to meet someone from this realm and befriend them. Yeah, like that was ever going to happen. The girl was so shy; she couldn’t even talk to a rock. Okay maybe a rock, but as far as another human being went she couldn’t muster up the courage to even say hello.
Reena had become the place for her to escape from and let her talent flourish. Well, today she wasn’t avoiding troubles, but looking for something to inspire her to draw, plus she needed a pretty good picture for her art class presentation next week and time was slipping away. So, she ventured away from the school to find the magical tree that transported her to Reena.
She wanted some place quiet to think and just let her mind get lost in the drawing. She had found it here at Morana. Lily made sure to find a dry spot as to not get her dark denim jeans wet. She pulled the grey jacket tighter around her torso before finding a comfortable position. Opening the sketch pad and a pencil in her hand, she let her brown eyes wander around the area, getting a feel for where she was and what she was about to sketch. Then, the graphite met paper and she began to illustrate.
Several long and short strokes caressed the paper as the scene before her began to come alive even in the roughest of sketches. One hand held her canvas steady while the other danced across the page creating strokes and lines. The elements began to take shake, and her head constantly looked up and down as she moved from the scenery to the sketch pad. Lilyanna wanted to get this right, otherwise she felt like she wouldn’t be doing justice to this beautiful land.
After several moments, she lost track of her surroundings. Her mind was so focused on the picture at hand that she wouldn’t have realized if some monster was sneaking up on her. It was quite dangerous really in a place you didn’t know very well. However, the thought never entered her mind as she got lost in the drawing, smudging the graphite here and there, creating shadows and depth to the land that she was trying to capture. Just what would her art professor say when he saw this? All Lilyanna knew was that she hoped for an A.

Post by AURELIAN NIKOLAI HUNTERS on Mar 11, 2010 7:30:39 GMT -5
Boring. Aurelian sighed as he walked towards Morana. No, more like glided or floated on the cool sea breeze. These were the moments he loved being the air spirit, being able to command the wind and air to do his bidding. Or at least carry him to where he wants to go without getting tired. Why can't Reena have cars too. He thought moodily as he lifted his arm lazily to the left, directing where the wind should take him. Usually, he does not need to do something as ostentatious as arm waving, but his mind is currently preoccupied and so he has to settle with this.
Of course he made sure that there was no one around him, but in case that someone sees his abilities, he lifted his arm all the way up to his mouth and acted as if he was covering a yawn. And he was also standing tall, instead of being in a more comfortable position, so at least he can claim that he's walking. As calm as he tries to seem, he's pretty insecure about using his powers, but since he's born with them, he should just be cautious since he will probably slip up anyway. And besides he didn't want to walk from the city to Morana, that would take too long.
The city was the reason why Aurelian was going to Morana, or better yet, the lack of business in the city since for some reason all the residents were too busy to spend a little time to know about their future, immediate or not. Which was not fun for Aurelian, the resident fortune teller since that was his business and when there's no one who asks for their fortune, then he has no business. He wasn't doing it for the money, since living for a few hundred years gave him a lot of money, but still. If no one asked for their fortune, then he couldn't make their fortune come true.
When he arrived at Morana, he stopped gliding and let his feet touch the ground. He walked slowly, since he's afraid he might accidentally get his robes, which were uselessly long, caught up with a branch or a twig or something much worse. Why do I even have to wear a robe anyway? He thought sulkily as he moved forward, hoping to meet someone, anyone to talk to already because it was getting to boring for him already. Acutally, the only reason he's wearing a robe was because he found Ashling's medieval or fantastical beings, especially fortune tellers, wear robes, and so he decided to imitate them. It was pretty fun and interesting at first, but now it was just annoying. But for some reason, he sticks through his decisions, and so he'll wear the stuffy robe until his time is up.
He was minding his own business when he saw someone drawing nearby. Beings in Reena didn't use the writing materials the person was using, and so he assumed that this was a human Ashling. He kept quiet, sitting down behind her while watching her draw her scenery, which was pretty accurate, much to his surprise. "You're good. He spoke without thinking, unaware that he spoke out loud.

DID YOU EVER BELIEVE? WERE YOU EVER A DREAMER? - ever imagined heart open and free - For a moment, she paused to take a good look at her image of inspiration before going back to the paper in her lap. The pencil moved against the paper, as Lily gave the land highlights and shadows. Although all her teachers and professor told her not to use her fingers to smudge, she couldn’t help it. It was how she blended the pencil lead so the lines weren’t so visible. Plus, she felt it gave the image an interesting look as the graphite was smudged across the page. Her fingers rubbed the page, changing the pressure of her fingers to give her the right effect. Pulling her hand away, she notices the graphite stain on her fingers, grabbing a handkerchief in her back pocket to wipe her fingers clean, not wanting to leave finger prints on her masterpiece.
Sighing, she sat back a little, raising the art to do a comparison of how well she was capturing the landscape. So far, in her mind at least, it was going well. Now she had to focus on the small details of the area. Lowering the sketch pad, she rummaged around a harder graphite pencil. Pressing it to the paper, she began to sketch in the small details, making the picture pop even more.
Once again, she lost herself in the work of her art. Not paying attention to what was going on around her. She didn’t even see the boy that was coming to sit beside her. Well, she wasn’t paying attention and her hair hung either side of her face like blinders on a horse. Her view was obstructed on the side of her face, but what she saw in front of her was what matter the most right now for her.
“You’re good.”
She jumped slightly at the voice, the boy bringing her out of focused trance of her art. Her head quickly turned to the boy, seeing him sitting next to her. How did get there? Lilyanna didn’t even here him come sit next to her, let alone walk over. Her eyes glanced back to her work, knowing that once again she had been lost in the concentration of her work. She knew that she should learn not to get so lost in her work out here in Reena, knowing that it would one day get in trouble. However, she didn’t know how to stop concentrating so hard. Worst of all, if something did happen, there was no one around to help her for miles, or even from her own realm. No one would ever know what would happen to her. If she went missing, the police would never find her. She wouldn’t be part of the real world anymore, but of Reena.
However, this boy didn’t look so intimidating or evil for that matter. In fact, he seemed gentle, like the wind itself, but then again, the wind could also be savage, and so she would just have to be careful. A small blush came across her cheeks as she smiled sheepishly. “Thanks… but it’s, uh, not finished yet.” Her head lowered again, going back to the sketch pad with her almost finished picture. “You, really think it’s good?” Granted she knew that she was skilled, but all she ever heard good things from were her parents and professor. It was nice to hear it from other people, even if they were a total stranger to her. But still, it was nice to have compliments from people, something she wasn’t really used to and wasn’t sure what to do other than say thank you.

"Oh, I spoke out loud, didn't I?" Aurelian said in a sheepish manner as he scratched the back of his neck with his left hand, a habit he got from the humans a long while back, while his right hand fiddled with one of the hems of his robes, unsure where to put it since his robes lacked pockets. He's starting to miss Ashling already, since he could wear jeans there even if he's a fortune teller. Actually I could wear pants with pockets here too. He told himself, making him mentally groan for his stupid choice a year or so back. Ah well, suck it up. You picked it, so live with it. He recited his general motto in life in his head, reminding himself to live with the choices he made or makes.
"I'm sorry I'm such an airhead," he put on a sheepish grin as he tried, and succeeded, not to chuckle at his inside joke. But his grin disappeared when he remembered that he distracted from her drawing, replacing the grin with a frown at his embarrassment of bothering her with his lack of self control. "I really have to learn to keep my mouth, don't I?" He added since he really has a tendency to speak without thinking what's coming out of his mouth. It's ha bad habit he needs to rid himself of, but it's difficult to teach an old dog new tricks, and he's one really old dog.
She blushed at his compliment and smiled sheepishly as she said, "Thanks, but it's, uh, not finished yet." His eyes grew wider at what she said because he didn't know that there was more to be added to the beautiful sketch. "Really?" He gasped as he pointed to the sketch, making sure that his finger was no where near the drawing in case he dirties it or does something worse. "But it looks so beautiful already." He was no stranger to the arts, being around for a few centuries or so. But he was easily impressed anyway, since he had no talents in the arts and she was really a talented artist. His eye could at least recognized beauty in the drawing when he sees it.
"You, really think it’s good?" She asked in a shy manner, at least in Aurelian's terms. But in his standards, everyone's pretty shy since he's very very very outgoing, to say the least. "Nope," he replied with an exaggerated shake of his head to prove his point. "It's great!" He exclaimed, his face lighting up as he told her. He was very expressive and he used gestures to prove his point. Then he put his hands on his waist as he pouted, "Why do you think that your drawing is only good? It's beyond good, I mean it perfectly captures the landscape. I know I don't have an eye for detail, but it really looks great!" He added, not understanding why she was unsure of her own work. Shouldn't the artist be more proud of it than the spectator? He thought as he looked at her with a curious expression on his face, reflecting his lack of understanding about her insecurity.

DID YOU EVER BELIEVE? WERE YOU EVER A DREAMER? - ever imagined heart open and free - “Oh, I spoke out loud, didn’t I? I’m sorry I’m such an air head. I really have to learn to keep my mouth shut, don’t I?”
Lilyanna only shook her head as she moved between the scenery and the sketch pad in her lap. “No, you’re not an air head. I just think that for some people they just have to voice their opinions. It’s not always a bad thing but depending on what you say it could be offense. Oh, don’t worry! What you said wasn’t offensive.” Her eyes went back to the drawing in her hand, the pencil giving more details and her fingers smudging the graphite across the page.
“Really? But it looks beautiful already?”
Lilyanna couldn’t help but blush again. It was always such a nice change to have someone compliment her work. People would murmur about her work far away from her, but no one would actually compliment her in person. Well, her art professor did, but they didn’t count. They were the judge of all the art work and everyone in the class was really good with their art.
“Nope. It’s great!”
For a moment her heart dropped, actually thinking that this boy didn’t like the art work. She panicked for a moment, her heart racing in her chest and were just about to widen in fear before he complimented her again. Taking a deep breath, she held it before letting it out slowly. Well, it was nice to know that he did like it.
“Why do you think that your drawing is only good? It’s beyond good, I mean it perfectly captures the landscape. I know I don’t have an eye for detail, but it really looks great!”
Lilyanna sighed as she went back to her work, adding more detail. “Well, I mean, I know that it’s good, but I just don’t hear people tell me that often. Like, where I come from people don’t look beyond what they first see. I’m more of an outcast and people don’t really talk to me. So, when people compliment me on my work, well I can’t help but get bashful. I’m just not used to hearing it said out loud. But, it’s nice to hear someone say it.” The pencil moved across the page a few more times, before she smudged the last few details. Setting down her pencil and wiping her fingers, she held the edges of her sketch pad between her hands before lifting it in front of her eyes were she had been watching the landscape. “There. It’s done now.”
