harley; •••i refuse, i refuse, i refuse to close my eyes. The silence. The eerie blue lighting pouring from the quarter moon that hung luminously in the black air. The northern winds screaming and howling in, rattling and raking the branches of decaying trees together. Small creatures hobbled and crawled into their nests, underground dens, and hollowed out tree trunks for safety from the seventeen degree winds. Branches rubbed together, screaming and groaning. The loud noise pierced the sensitive ears of a close vampire who had been hiding from the light of day in tree limbs. His pale, almost translucent skin shimmered in the light. No, this vampire was no douche like the ones you may fantasies about off the Twilight saga, this was a real vamp. Blood no longer pulsed through his frozen veins, his heart could no longer beat, but it was in constant pain.
Light green eyes slid open, staring up at the small branch just inches away from his nose. A groan slipped from parted lips, an the slender man rolled off the branch, dropping only a few feet to the ground on his feet. He raised his tattooed hands, almost rubbing the annoyed expression off of his face, replacing it was a bored one. What the fuck is there to do around here? his conscious yelled to him from the back of his lonely mind. Just as if it was an answer, a fat raccoon waddled by, nonchalantly looking up at Harley with dark, oil drop eyes. A small smirk appeared over the lips of the vamp, his bright white teeth glistening in the blue light. Almost as if the raccoon knew what was about to happen, it moved faster, lengthening its short stride by inches. A quick hand came out of nowhere, breaking the coons small neck, quickly cutting off its air.
The smirk quickly fell, and the expression on the handsome mans face was once again, blank. He shook his long black hair out of his light green eyes, sighing again and walking forward slowly. This is what the man did for entertainment? Kill small animals? Hmm, what a life. The cold breeze howled, but didn't chill Harley one bit. He had on only a blue Drop Dead shirt, skinny jeans, and converse. If you didn't know him, he would be easily mistaken for still being human. The thought made him scoff. But his heart ached terribly at the thought of his lonely travels.

T
hose were her first thoughts on the night. The moon spilled light onto the land below, casting eerie shadows and sillouhetting a curvy, slender figure against the black of the night. It was obviously woman, and obviously beautiful, but something about the way it, she, carried herself made you cringe. She was dangerous. Lyric's appearance almost reflected the dark soul within, although her shadow had no heart. Lyric didn't mind... she was used to being alone. But what was she, a siren, doing in Libitina on such a night? The honest answer? Nothing. Rarely did Lyric spend a full day in the water, unlike some sirens, but rarely did she travel too far from Morana. And Libitina was a bit farther than too far. At least, for Lyric it was. Her dark eyes scanned the horizon as she walked through the old city. There had to be someone out, no doubt about it! Any dark wanderer would take advantage of a night such as that. It was dangerous, for a girl like her to be where she was... Maybe that was what thrilled her. Admitted, Lyric was a bit frightened, but she liked it. Since she was a siren, and she did live in the murky depths of morana, and she was a killer, and she was used to it, her home held no more interest for her. None. And since she was among the best of singers of the siren community, working for a meal had only a twinge of exitement. Simply put, she needed to get out more. She felt the burn in her legs grow stronger, and she knew she had to rest. In the water, it took little effort to move weightlessly. On land it was harder. She chose a cleanish corner of the ground to sit, careful to brush away anything that could stain her clothing. She had bought from a witch, a long time ago, cloth that could stay "dry" in water, perfect for her. But unfortunately, her 'land clothes' were in short supply. Lyric had never visited Ashling, like she always wanted too, but she was able to get some human clothing from others who got out more. She wore a simpyl grey T-Shirt with a pair of simple blue jeans and simple flip flops. Simple. And then she saw him. A vampire, tall, thin, and sickly pale, though he seemed to be satisfied. "Hey!" she called before the bells started ringing in her head. Warnings bells. This character could be darker than most, dangerous... Maybe he would eat her then and there. But surely siren blood was different from human blood?!? Maybe he wouldn't eat her... harley; •••i refuse, i refuse, i refuse to close my eyes. Chilling winds carried the mixed scents of various beats that roamed the night, making his skin crawl. But, what is this? Oh, really now? A female... siren? Yes, I believe so. Wide eyes flicked to the right, peering through the black shades of his hair. There she was; a tall brunette, and a beautiful one at that. Another smirk crawled across his light lips, but not the one that had taken over his face when he was thinking about the death of the innocent raccoon, but one that showed mere interest. But, she wasn't interested in even talking to him.. I don't think.
"Hey!" Hmm, take that back. Maybe she was? He stopped, fully looking over his shoulder. A deadly, yet friendly and harmless smile bared his pearly teeth. "..Hey," His heavy British accent curling with the single word. How he hated it. Oh well, at least he took advantage of using it to seduce stupid women.. easy dinner.
She sat alone, wiping something off of her clothing. Females, no matter the species. Are they all worried about their clothing that much? Well, he wasn't hungry, the least bit, and was even a bit lonely... the siren would have to do. Anyhow, she probably wouldn't taste good. Be polite, she isn't worth being rude too. his mind warned. He turned to face her, giving her his full attention, but he still listened out for strange noises and scents. "What is a fragile thing like you doing out here? It's quiet dangerous for beautiful girls to be out at night." The words rolled off his tongue so easily, so sly sounding, yet so sweet all at the same time. decent. ;muse.

TELL ME THAT YOU'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT&& Y O U R B I R D C A N S I N GBUT YOU DON'T GET ME, YOU DON'T GET ME Now she was in trouble. Big, big trouble. Super dangerous trouble. Lyric's young age was a bit of a disadvantage, lack of experience, and she was at a loss with this vamp. Would he try to eat her? She tried hiding her face with her hair a bit, turning her head sideways and letting her dark locks fall into place over her profile. But it was too late for that. Damn those super-refelxes vampires had. Grr.
She couldn't show her fear, too proud for that by far. She had ot answer him when he replied. "Hey. What is a fragile thing like you doing out here? It's quiet dangerous for beautiful girls to be out at night." Ha. Funny how every male, no mater the species, fell to the siren's decieving beauty. A chuckle escaped her lips as Lyric thought about her "angry face," the appearance she took in intense anger... If only he could see her like that, he wouldn't eat her.
A
mental prayer raced through he rmind before she answered. "Fragile? Haven't been around too many sirens, now have you?" Okay, maybe a bit over her resources, a bit over the top, but only just. Vampy here wouldn't know. Of course, if he did see thorugh her semi-bluff, she could be dinner. She was gambling now, crossing her fingers, hoping this vamp wasn't hungry. Or, ehm, thirsty. There was, of course, a third choice: run. But he would catch her for sure. She was a sitting duck, or rather, a sitting swan. And she was walking a thin line. harley; •••i refuse, i refuse, i refuse to close my eyes. Poor thing, he could feel that she was frightened. She had nothing to worry about.. so far. She dropped her face, her hair covering it. After no reply to his comment, he smirked and sighed, icy breath rolling from his parted lips. "Fragile? Haven't been around too many sirens, now have you?" Finally, an answer. A vicious laugh rose from his throat. Poor thing, that probably only made her small heart race under her chest. "Oh. If you only knew." He laughed again. His history was pathetically full of women of different species.
"So, Doll, what are you doing out here? You don't seem to be the kind I'd find out here." Damn his accent. Ugh, how he hated it. Light green eyes looked over the girls small frame. She was young, obviously. Her hair flipped in the wind, still covering her face. Tempting, he though; but, if she did try to hurt me... It'd be absolutely harmless to myself. Finally, he lifted his hand, brushing her long brown locks from her soft face. His cool fingers traced her brow and he tucked the hair behind her ear. Amazing, she's so warm. His cold fingers stayed pressed against her face, sliding down to her chin, lifting her face so he could see her fully. "You have gorgeous eyes." A little flirtatious compliments never hurt, right? eh-ish. ;muse.

"If only you knew."
His voice had a heavy British accent, and had the circumstances been better, Lyric would have smiled. But she still had to decide if he was dangerous. Surely he would have eaten her by now, if he was going to. Maybe not, but probably. So she seemed safe. For now.
"So, Doll, what are you doing out here? You don't seem to be the kind I'd find out here." Again with the accent. Had he not been dead, Lyric could have sworn she was swooning. But corpses were off limits, after all. Her hair continued to whip around her face, and it was getting to be bothersome. Somehow, though, it was a security blanket, her safety net for the moment.
And then it was stripped away. The vampire's cold fingers moved her hair aside, and she suddenly felt feverish next to his icy fingers. He tucked her hair behind her ears and traced her jawline, a cold trail where his fingers were drawn across her face. She looked up, into his eyes, and instantly regretted it. While Vampy might not have been dangerous, he certainly was flirtatious. And that was a whole nother danger to sirens.
His complement was laced with innocence, but the words were still... not innocent. But what to say to such a statement? Maybe better just to ignore it. "Thanks." Or not. "And as for what I'm doing here-" The words caught in her throat, and she paused. She glanced away from his intense, critical gaze. What she was doign here was a mystery to her.
"So Vampy, what's your name?" Maybe changing the subject to safer ground was a good idea. tag harley keller, the vamp words 280...ick. notes sorry about the constant changes, I'm still experimenting. credits this was made by brooke !

harley; •••i refuse, i refuse, i refuse to close my eyes. "Thanks. And as for what I'm doing here-" she paused, quickly directing her sight away from his face. Unsure, his lips tightened and he slowly dropped his cold hand back to his side, stuffing his thumbs in the corners of his pockets and shifting his weight to his right leg. Hmm, possibly she was unsure of why she was even here. That was a bit obvious by her short cut response. He lifted his brows in interest, even though he more than likely wasn't getting an answer out of the young siren.
"So Vampy, what's your name?" Change of subject, she must be uncomfortable. "It's uh.." he paused, sighing. "Harley." He lifted his left hand, running his fingers through the back of his straight hair just to drop it to his side again. "What about you, Siren?" A smile of playful tease crept over his face, reaching his bright eyes.
The wind picked up again, screaming through the hollows of the trees. The girls aroma was caught in the wind again, fluttering around his pale face, he couldn't help but inhale the sweet scent. Maybe this girl wasn't half bad, just nervous, tense.. cautious. muse; eh. :\ ooc; sorry i didnt reply eariler, i was grounded. Dx

TELL ME THAT YOU'VE GOT EVERYTHING YOU WANT&& Y O U R B I R D C A N S I N GBUT YOU DON'T GET ME, YOU DON'T GET ME "What?" he asked, a bit sullenly, a bit nervously. Lyric had heard from another siren that vampires could smell blood and hear it rushing through the veins of the carrier. That deer was probably killing him. he was trying to pay attention soley to her, she could tell. Finally the buck trotted off, far enough away to stop the odd phase Harley was in. But he saw her glance, her expression, and probably thought she was being mean. And the first rule of tongue is this: never insult a dark creature. Like herself.
It was so odd, being the predator and the prey. Like an endless cycle of fear and food. What happened when everyone was dead? Would the remaining lost souls go to Ashling? Ashling brought up another touchy subject with her. How she longed to escape Reena, to leave and get to the magical world she'd heard of. Living among humans sounded like an extraordinary adventure. But she could never find the exit. And asking someone was out of the question. She started, and snapped herself back to reality. If she put on her nagry face, Harley might have a fear induced snap. On her.
She realized she still hadn't answered his question, and tried to make like she had been thinking, or remembering. Or something. "Oh, nothing. It's just... well. Um, don't get upset, okay, but don't vampires usually drink huma blood? Not, like, animal?" It sounded so... upsetting when she said it like that. She gave herself a mental facepalm and waited fo rhis response.
She was walking the line. Again. tag harley words 396 notes sorry i neglected you. credits this was made by brooke !

harley; •••i refuse, i refuse, i refuse to close my eyes. "Lyric." Cute, innocent sounding. You didn't find that much anymore. Usually he was pounded with weird names that had to be shortened to a small nick name just to be remembered. And they were usually ridiculously mid-evil. Before he realized the silence was dragging, he lifted his eyes back to hers again, just in time for her to strike conversation again. "So, Harley, are all vampires as friendly as you are?" He smirked, shrugging his shoulders with his response. "Eh, not most actually. I guess I'm just lucky." Lucky? The single word made him want to barf. There was nothing lucky here, accept for maybe the fact that she didn't look tasty right now.
"Actually, most are crude bitches and bastards." He rolled his eyes at the thought. "And they're the kind that give the horrible impressions for the lot of us." He gave out a small laugh, trying to make it sound not so serious, even though he truly did hate those kinds of vamps. "What about you? Are all sirens as gorgeous as yourself?" The disgusted smirk turned to a genuine smile. Stupid question, but it would keep the conversation going. muse; tired. ooc; .

harley; •••i refuse, i refuse, i refuse to close my eyes. "Most, actually. But it's really not about how you look, it's all about your voice. The better singers are the better fed sirens, if you catch my drift." He smiled, letting out a soft chuckel, "Oh, I completely understand. I've encountered a few of you, and you're actually all quiet amazing singers I though. What about you? Do you fancy your singing?" Honestly, this was just an attempt to hear her sing. It might get him into some undoubtful trouble with her, but it was worth it. Sirens always has beautiful voices, it was in their cold, salty blood.
He wound his fingers in his shirt, getting a gut feeling that he shouldn't have asked her if she liked her voice for some reason. His light green eyes caught the movement of something behind her beautiful pale face, getting his attention. A small spike buck trotted between trees, his tail flicked up. The sound of his forked hooves striking the earth's crust echoed to Harley's sharp ears, but he tried to ignore it and directed his attention back to Lyric. muse; eh. :\ ooc; its fine, ive done that so many times before, i hate it. haha.

He was in dangerous territory now. Never, ever ask a siren, or any female water creature, for that matter, what she thought of herself. But Lyric couldn't devour this vampire, for three reasons: (a) she wasn't hungry, having eaten just a few days previously, (b) vampire's had no souls, so it was wasted effort, and (c) he had sown her mercy. Should she not do the same? So, Lyric made up her mind.
"I'm one of the best," she said casually, all hopes of humility gone. "I would show you, but..." But nothing, you'd be dead! She chewed her lip until it was painful, and thendug her nails into her palms. Nervous habits. And now that Harley had mentioned it, she really wanted to sing... Well, it couldn't hurt.
No. It could hurt. Either she'd eat him, or her song would draw him closer, closer, closer, and he'd eat her. Not a win-win scenarior, exactly. So she kept her mouth shut, waiting for Harley to start a new topic. He was so pale, but she couldn't tell if that was just the moonlight, or real. It made her own skin look tan! A brief image of a dead sailor floated through her mind. No wonder vampires were "the undead". Harley's eyes flickered to something just over her shoulder, and Lyric's own eyes could plainly see how hard it was to keep his attention on her.
She turned her head sideways, just a bit, to see what it was, keeping her eyes on him for as long as possible lest her try any tricks. There was nothing, only a lone stag. She turned her attention back to her companion, confused. Did vamps eat animals? tag harley words 307 notes eh, better. credits this was made by brooke !

He noticed she was nearly gnawing on her lip and smiled, "That didn't even pass through my mind. Probably wouldn't be a great idea for either of us if you did sing." He gave her a sweet smile, showing his bright teeth. His fingers untwisted from his shirt, closing into a cold fist. Something about her made him want to lean forward and wrap her in his arms and not let go. It confused him. Most likely because that's what sirens did to foolish guys.
Wind whipped, tossing his bangs from his face. He grumbled, reaching up immediately and fixing his precious hair. She turned to see the spike nearly disappear into the shadows, then directed her attention back to him, looking confused about something. "What?" he questioned, laughing. His gut nearly had a churning feeling for some unknown reason. Truly, he wanted to hear her sing, but he'd probably end up hurting her, or vis versa. muse; okay. ooc;
