CREATURES OF REENA
this is a (long) list of all the things that one may be in the world of reena.
every creture may have a human transformation aside from humans since
they already are humans and other creatures that already appear to be
human enough. if there is a creature you have in mind that is not listed
here feel free to message the admins and they will consider adding it.
the numbers show how many we are currently accepting. more will be
as more people join.

BANSHEE
the banshee is an omen of death and messenger from the 'otherworld.' these creatures usually only come in one gender; female. but there have been a few here and there that appear to be male. you never know though, banshee's are known for high pitched wails and constant sobbing so getting up close to one is not a good idea. they may also transform into one of three animals: a hare, crow, or weasel.

DEMON
demons are dark creatures that can either be conjured up or spat straight from the gates of hell. when one is conjured, it is usually so the person possesing it can use it. this often does not work as they are powerful monsters. demons can possess any creature they wish and have them feel different intensities of greed, lust, or violence. demons are very persuasive creatures and come in all shapes and sizes.

DRAGON
dragons are often large and frightening creatures. but, like anything, the vary in shapes and sizes and personalities. usually dragons are guardians of people, places, and other such things but there are many that roam wild and free. dragons can usually breath fire or various other elements. some have wings, some do not. some breath fire, some have nothing but air passing through them. it all depends on the dragon.

FAIRY
a fairy can be known by many names. these small creatures can preform small tasks when it comes to controlling plant life. they all have a green thumb, you could say. they also know a thing or two about certain magics. they are known to be somewhat curious and mischeif makers, but fairies are usually very well hidden and hardly show themselves to any other creatures other than themselves. equipped with a pair of wings, these little guys can disappear in an instant.

GARGOYLE
magnificent and strong creatures are the gargoyles. the only time you may see one in action though is during the hours of the night as the sun changes them back into stone. they are guardians and loyal to the spot that they were set to guard even if it has long started to rot away. they are much stronger than many creatures and have skin that is almost impossible to tear through. flying, wall crawling, animal like senses, and the ability to see in the dark as well as go long without oxygen are a few perks of these creatures.

GHOUL
a ghoul is a cemetery dwelling creature who can appear just as horrifying as a rotting corpse if they do not hide away behind their more human forms. they have razor sharp teeth, amazing vision with glowing eyes, and usually very large mouths to hold in all of those rows of dagger teeth! their skin is also very thick and difficult to penetrate. they hardly ever are seen in the daytime as it is the night when they enjoy feasting on the flesh of newly dead creatures. it is possible for the ghoul to shape shift into but a single animal and that animal is a hyena. ghouls will rarely show violence and attack anyone unless you have corned them, then they are very dangerous and can only be killed by decapitation. they can heal amazingly fast.

GORGON
these creatures are always female. some are more monstrous in others being covered in scales and having sharp nails and teeth while others only bare the most obvious of their well known oddity: live snakes as hair. it is possible for the gorgon to hide this, however, in their completely human state. but that will not protect anyone from a gorgon’s stare as it will turn you (or even the gorgon) into stone. many hide away near the sea. others who fight to be a part of society hide their eyes behind scarves (and also keep those live snakes well out of site). many gorgons are very coldhearted and bitter due to their strange deformity.

GRYPHON
the gryphon has always been thought of as a powerful and majestic creature and there is no doubt that when you see the gryphon you should think just that. these large creatures have the body of a lion, head (and forelegs) of an eagle, and wings of a dragon. usually gryphons stick to themselves despite their striking appearances. they are brilliant fliers and runners making them excellent hunters and the champions in many battles as they are agile on the ground and up in the skies. For the most part they are peaceful and leave be the rest of the creatures residing in their world. if you dare insult or wrongly cross a gryphon though, they are hard to forgive and will not let you off easily as they are usually proud creatures. like many of the creatures of reena, gryphons too can take on their own human forms.

HARPY
harpies have never been considered the most beautiful of creatures. they are part bird and human having the torso and head of a human but their arms are wings and their legs are talons. they were even misfortunate enough to have a bird’s tail on their backsides. though it has not been proven completely that all harpies are rather unattractive, they still do not seem to strike much appeal to most eyes. what they do have on their side, however, is great speed. they are not called ‘snatchers’ for nothing, after all. these large creatures are masters of the skies so don’t underestimate one for its strange looks. after all, they too can make those feathers temporarily disappear when they take on their more, less natural human forms.

HUMAN
a human is the only creature that lives in both reena and the normal world. humans are non-magic, ever day things just like you and i. but just because they aren’t completely out of the ordinary compared to other creatures doesn’t mean that they do not play important roles. humans, after all, have always played a very large role in changing the world and adapting very well with it. they are also capable of great good and evil.

KELPIE
kelpies are vile creatures. they are said to be working for the devil himself, in fact. in any case, the kelpie is a creature that lives always near water for they are something of water horses. kelpies literally take on the forms of horses and draw their victims in by simply being a beautiful horse. the main colors of kelpie are usually gray and black but over the years more have popped up. once the creature has drawn in someone they offer to let them upon their back. as soon as the person takes a seat the kelpie dashes into their watery home and drowns their victims and then devours them. every so often a kelpie will seduce a travel with their human forms if they are strong enough to pull them back into the water grave.

MERFOLK
the merfolk of reena are not like the kind you read about in fairytales and childrens stories. these stealthy, agile hunters are as cold blooded as the fish they snack on. there are different kinds of merfolk here, and it all depends on where they dwell. the mermaids who live on the reefs and near the shore are more beautiful and human looking, using their beauty to lure in humans and human like creatures of the opposite sex. whereas the mermaids who reside on the ocean floor take on a more fishy appearence with scaly grey skin, claws for fingers and an assault of razor sharp teeth. these frightening mermaids love the thrill of the chase when it comes to food, the maeko shark being its prized meal. these creatures come evenly in both sexes and vary on clan sizes, the further down they dwell, the more solitary they prefer to be.

NAGA
naga’s are large snakelike creatures with the upper body of a human being. these creatures are quite rare and keep to themselves in forests or underneath the ground. they are blessed with a keen sense of smell and can see body heat through their eyes just as a normal snake would do so. They can be quick but have a bit of a difficult time getting around places that they are not fond of. most of the time they are shy and defensive, keeping to their own kind and staying in various sizes of groups.

PEGASUS
The angels of our land, the Pegasus roam the skies of Reena doing what good creatures do best, helping those in need and keeping the balance between good and evil in check. These are very proud beasts as they see themselves as saints almost, but like any animal, they can turn. They don't take kindly to people they think aren't worthy and to hurt a Pegasus' pride would be the last thing you would do. These beasts feed mostly on the most lush and nutrient leaves at the very tops of trees. They prefers to live in small family groups consisting of the mate and children. The offspring stay with their parents until they find a mate of their own.

PHOENIX
the phoenix are a legendary breed, with only a few being known to exsist at one time. they are immortal to natural death, bursting into flames when it is time to recyle their old, weak body and out of their ashes, they are reborn. this cycle repeats itself for centuries until the bird itself chooses when to die for good. before it puts itself to rest, it lays an egg so a new Phoenix can take its place. these creatures are gentle and placid, loving nothing more than to roam the skies viewing the world, and taking human form to walk the land, interact and learn what it can't from the sky. these creatures are very inquisitive and very, very wise. they come in both sexes and prefer to dine on plants and insects. as the number of these beasts is so small, they usually live alone. rhey prefer the much more interesting company of humans anyway.

UNICORN
unicorns are quite different to their winged relatives, the pegasus. unicorns are very shy creatures, residing deep in the forest to avoid interaction. though they are timid, they are by no means weak. they are lightning quick and agile, able to bolt through a dense forest with ease. and one Unicorn has the strength of about five mature stallion horses, a single kick from this beasts hind legs would be enough to quite literally knock your head off. the Unicorn is hunted by humans as its blood apparently prolongs life significantly, its hair is stronger than titanium and its horn holds magic qualities, also making it a target for witches and wizards. these solitary animal like to be in their human form mostly to blend in. though their platinum, silk hair and glowing grey eyes are usually quite a give away.

UPIER
a small branch off of vampires, upiers have a few things different than the vampires. for one, their original appearance is never anything splendid as they are lone creatures who hardly make contact with anyone and are very rare to even be spotted. most of the time they sleep and when they are not sleeping they are hunting for blood. yes, the upier is really (to put it simply) just a blood thirsty monster. They have sharp pointed teeth and a barbed tongue to help collect more blood from a victim. the only way to be sure to kill one would be to put a nail straight through its forehead.

VAMPIRE
vampires are dark and stealthy creatures, hunting primarily at night time as their translucent skin and highly sensitive eyes are too fragile for sunlight. these creatures are very quick and agile, with the ability to scale a mountain or manouvure a forest in a matter of a few minutes. they are also quite strong, but they rely heavily on the element of surprise to kill their victim. whether they just enjoy a stealthy and quick kill rather than a long chase is unknown as vampires have sufficiant ability to do the latter. vampires are usually solitary creatures, unless they have a mate. there have known to be covens of these night beasts, but they aren't the most inclined to sharing, whether that be food, females or power. vampires can live for thousands of years before becoming too weak to hunt, though most vampires die young through conflict and carelessness. the older the vampire, the more it can stand sunlight.

SIREN
these water spirits are the most deceiving of them all. sirens are water dwelling creatures that appear to be incredibly beautiful, though they can take on quite a scary appearance when angered. they have been known to have been the cause of death for many sailors throughout the centuries with their wicked ability. any man who hears the siren's song is hypnotized and will chase after the beautiful siren until the creature can drown the human and devour his soul. these creatures are nearly always female, there have been rumours of male sirens but very little is known of these creatures as few who encounter them live to tell the tale. sirens live in big clans, working together to hunt who ships full of men. they glide through the water faster than merfolk, although they have legs instead of a tail. they can also take on a human form and walk on land, though their siren song only works when they are in the water.

WEREWOLF
the werewolf is one of the most feared creatures known in reena. these horrible beasts are ruthless and strong, hunting whatever moving critter it can find trying to scurry away from it. usually in human form, these creatures take on a giant half human-half wolf when the full moon rises, though the older and more experienced the beast, the more control it has over its phasing ability, some even able to phase in broad daylight. werewolves start off as solitary beasts until they are allowed to join a pack, which they are loyal to until death. they are not as fast as they are strong, which is why they prefer to hunt in packs and share the kill. werewolves and vampires have a long standing hatred of each other which is ingrained into each one of them. werewolves and vampires, and even upiers, will attack each other until the death without even needing to be provoked.

WITCH
usually witches are not given the best of reputations seeing as they always seem to be burned up or drowned in history. but not all witches are bad, just as not all are good. witches are women who are born with powerful gifts of magic. well, some are born with the talent while others learn very long and hard at both dark and light magics. witches can do just about what you have heard every witch can do: ride broomsticks, cast spells, make potions, and the such. they can also do dangerous things like conjure up demons. but they may also put dark creatures to rest with their magic.

WIZARD
the male version of witches, basically. wizards, like witches, practice magic both dark and light. they are often wise, gifted sort of people but every so often you’ll stumble upon the reckless youth with the odd variety of powers and spells. wizards spend their time and lives practicing and studying all kinds of different magics. some learn through their studies while others have a natural born talent.

BEASTS
The beasts are the magical animals of Reena. They have no human forms and take the form of only the animal they were born as. They range from wolves to cows and even tigers. Some of them seem plain as any animal while others can possesses magical abilities. Some have unique patterns on their fur or skin while others do not. The most distinct way to tell a beast from your everyday animal is that a beast can speak.
