laying underneath the stars strung out and feeling great watch the red orange glow watch it float away The night was always enjoyable for Aurora. It was quiet, and the silent in the forest always relaxed her after a long day. Finding an open area of grass, she took a seat, the grass cool against her pale skin. Slowly her back lowered into the short grass. Sighing, she let the cool grass tickle her skin, eyes closing as she enjoyed the silence of the forest around her. It was the only time she felt like she could relax, but she had to stay on her toes, knowing that something might show up in the forest. After a long day of staying hidden from creatures of Reena, she was finally about to come out in the open. The day had been long, she always seemed to be more jumpy in the day than at night, knowing that more creatures were out during the day enjoying themselves of looking for trouble rather than at night. In her mind, few creatures roamed the dark forest at night. Well, if she really knew, she might change her mind.
This place was her protection, the only place where she could be safe. The forest had become her home, but she wasn’t the only one that knew. Hunters and other creatures knew of this place, and every now and then, there were hunters and other creatures wandering around. They were looking for her, or at least someone who was the same creature as her. Honestly, it was rare for her to see someone that was a unicorn like her. They were rare in Reena, always hunted either for their blood, or horn. Gosh, she couldn’t imagine someone taking her blood, or removing her horn. The thought of it made shivers go up and down her spine, her skin crawling at the thought.
Shaking her head, she rid her mind of the thought, wanting only to relax before retreating to her safe haven, where no one could find her. But for now, she relaxed, light chills rising on her skin as the grass brushed against her flesh. Suddenly, Aurora began to hum, music filling her head and body. Glowing grey eyes opened to see the moon resting over head along with diamond stars glittering against the black velvet sky. It was so beautiful; she wished she could reach out and touch it. She imagined what it would be like to taste the moon, the contents melting in her mouth, like… Oh what was that food humans in Reena ate? Oh yes, cotton candy. That’s what it would be like; like eating cotton candy. The stars would tingle against her skin, and it would be an extraordinary sensation.
Her humming began to escalate, the soft notes turning into words, the melody beginning to fill the area around her. Grey eyes closed again, her voice staying soft as the words flowed from her lips like water in a river. It was so easy for her to sing, she didn’t even have to have lyric in her mind. Anything she was thinking about she could make into a song. Like, the moon and the stars, they were her inspiration right now. Fingers laced into the blades of grass, her mind getting lost in the music as her melody filled the open space around her. It was so easy for her to get lost in music.

YOUR TEARS DON'T FALL they crash around meHER CONSCIENCE CALLS THE GUILTY TO COME HOME ----------------------------------------------------------- Nighttime- ah that was the time that his kind really did perk up and come to life and he could feel the blackened sky already making him feel rejuvenated. His green eyes suddenly seemed to sparkle like an odd pair of oval stars and his pale skin gleamed like smooth silk under the pale lighting. His heartbeat seemed to be quickening as he sat on his heels at the end of an old village, his breath still gentle as he caught all the sudden sounds that the night offered to bring with it. There were calls from birds settling in and cries from creatures being stalked. He could hear all of the village settling into their measly huts either turning in for the night or having a late supper. For a moment he closed his eyes and merely listened, trying to tune in on one sound that he wanted to hear. Hmm he knew that he needed to find something that would entertain him for the night. Maybe some foolish, silly creature that he could sort of play cat and mouse with for a little bit. You know a bit of teasing here and some nipping there and then a bit of boyish charm there and then- oops, a bite that went through that pretty little neck. Ah, no, he wasn’t really one go out and commit violent acts. He was a ghoul. In other words he was a complete scavenger. He wouldn’t put up a fight unless the occasion called and in that case he would be sure to tear out our vocals and devour you slowly. Good luck cutting this monsters head off.
A sound that he liked. This was all very good to hear and it perked in immediate interest. The forest? Yes it was in the forest and if he continued into the forest a little deeper and perhaps out toward the ruins he’d find a pretty little thing singing lullabies to herself naively breathing in the cold night air while thinking that she was perfectly safe in her haven of her mind. Back to him now.
The beast opened up his eyes slowly, looking straight ahead of him and calmed his nerves while taking in his scenario. It was probable, he knew. After living for almost a thousand years one sort of learned the ropes to these things and could manage feats that were difficult for others. Or it just took a bit of imagination to motivate such thoughts. It was obviously mostly the second that helped bring it all together. True or false, he had a place in mind. Whether it was right or wrong he did have a direction to go in. If it was wrong then he would probably at least end up getting closer and would simply have to revaluate the situation. It was as simple as that. Why put all that thought into it? Well, he had already started to move but he was taking it slow and easy as his very shape was beginning to morph into something else. Something more canine. And if one thought of something else it made the transition a bit smoother.
Instead of a nicely shaped man hunched over in the graveyard there was now a crouching hyena getting to its feet and racing through the poorly made grave markers. His rough speckled coat made hardly any kind of appearance in the night as the fur was dark and the spots on it even darker. The only thing really visible to any human eye would be his bright greens staring right back at you. Oh- and perhaps the pointy fangs hidden behind his skin of his lips. The blondish hair on his neck stood high as he galloped through the thick tress of the forest. His round ears stood erect on top of his head to catch any other new sounds coming from around him. He wasn’t too concerned with that though. Ghouls were not popular to hunt by human or anything else dwelling in this forest. The only time they were really a bother was when they were busting open coffins and eating your relatives. That never turned out good for anyone when caught.
His legs slowed down but he ended up going at a trot when he heard the singing that he had been following begin to rise. He was close. So close that he could make out her form in the darkness. Most of his assumptions had been right. Though he hadn’t been expecting her to be lying down. Even with his fur coat and cold blood he still got the chills in this wicked winter weather. Whatever, at least he’d found his fun for the night. How to approach her was the question in mind. He had already circled the spot at least once and could feel his skin tightening as he began to take the shape of a human all over again. He came to a halt when he had returned to his normal flesh and bones. Once again, pale skin shone under the dull light and bright eyes watched with a smile. Before a plan of action even formulated, he was following his instinct and standing tall to step out onto the scene and in her range of vision.
At first he didn’t make a sound. He merely walked in her direction, tall and confident with a sweet sort of smirk resting on his lips. He then stepped over her with one quick skip and gazed down at her, perfectly light on his feet.
“’Ello, sweetheart.”

laying underneath the stars strung out and feeling great watch the red orange glow watch it float away The sounds around her were hushed, a light breeze every now and then rustling the grass below her hands and around her body. Nights like these were rare, and anytime Aurora could escape her hiding spot, she would. She didn’t really think about her singing attracting creatures, but rather putting them to sleep. Well, at least those that weren’t nocturnal. Those who hunted at night were a threat to her, but it never occurred to the girl to think about it. The girl should have taken more time to think through her plans in case something should go wrong, but all that mattered was she was able to sing at some point in the night.
Glowing grey eyes watched the sky above her, the stars trying their best to twinkle against the black velvet sky and outshine the moon. If anything, the night sky was always her inspiration. It was never the same. Every night it was always changing, sure the moon might go through the same phases, but the space around it, the stars, were always changing in the twinkling of their lights. She wondered what it would be like to be out there, in the sky and exploring the space beyond Reena. Surely it had to be safer than what she dealt with on a day to day basis? Well, she would always dream, for there was no possible way for her to get out there and experience it for real.
Her eyes closed, mouth forming to the words of her song as she let the mood fill her whole form. She was a hazard to herself, letting her guard down so easily when she was laying out in the open and singing. The girl should have learned her lesson by now, but she was oblivious to what was actually happening around her. Aurora had no idea a devious ghoul was sneaking up on her, slithering in the shadows of the forest around her. He was clever though, knowing not to make a sound as eyes watched her. Normally, she had a paranoid feeling, always thinking that someone was watching her, waiting for the right moment to spring on her. This was the only moment for once in her life that she wasn’t aware of her surroundings. Surely she was going to regret this.
Taking a deep breath, she let it out as more words flowed from her mouth, yet two simple words broke her concentration. Grey eyes opened to see a boy standing over her and a small scream left her lips. She quickly propped up onto her elbows and scooted away from the boy that stood over her. Great, now she was trapped. Her heart raced in her chest, unsure of just what this boy was or what he was doing here or what he wanted. She swallowed hard, taking several deep breaths to calm her racing heart, but she was having trouble. This boy had an air of mischief about him, trouble brewing around him. It made her nervous to be quite honest. It didn’t help that she was laying against the ground either. He stood over her, like he had already won the battle between them and he was going in for the finally kill.
Aurora swallowed hard again, finally feeling her heart rate lower finally. It took her a moment however before she actually found words to speak to the boy, “W-who are you? What do you want?” In her mind it may have sounded cliché, but what else was she supposed to say to the boy that loomed over her. Her stomach churn, bad feelings stirring inside her. For all she knew it could have been her paranoia finally kicking in, but she wasn’t sure just what this boy was doing here. Her grey eyes met his, and the feeling inside her stomach only seemed to grow worse.

YOUR TEARS DON'T FALL they crash around meHER CONSCIENCE CALLS THE GUILTY TO COME HOME ----------------------------------------------------------- Her scream caused a gentle chuckle to erupt in the pit of his chest. The ghouls stood his ground whilst watching the poor young woman scoot herself back and away from him, obvious fright written across her sweet features. For the moment he just gazed down upon her frail looking figure. The sly grin was still on his face and his head tilted slightly as he pressed his brows together in mock amusement. He finally swayed his figure a bit and brought his feet closer together to stand closer to his full height. Now he took slow, careful steps toward her. They were the same kind that he had taken while approaching her; soundless and soft against the crispy grass and leaves beneath his leather clad feet. The slow steps turned quicker, the carnivore in him daring to show itself if only for a moment. In a moments time he had managed to whiz around to the opposite side of her and again was standing over her, gazing down as they had met a few moments ago. He didn’t bother with her question. It wasn’t like she was going to get a straight answer out of him anyways. Not now. Not when the night was so fresh on against his skin.
“My, my, sweet girl. What are you still doing down there on the ground?”
The grin was still on. He took a side step so that he was standing behind her now. Then he crouched down behind her and reached his neck out in her direction so that he could rest his head just over her shoulder. He turned his chin in her direction, still smiling but looking somewhat concerned. He rested his hands on his knees with the palms down and pushed himself back up from the forest floor. He skipped back around her so that he was standing before her again and she would have to have no fear of him being out of her range of vision.
She wasn’t a human. That much was just all too obvious. The scent that she carried was something unique and clean and the closer he had gotten to her on the ground the stronger that it had grown. It was the complete opposite of what you may find a ghouls stinking like. What had he gotten before? Oh yes- he smelled like corpses and dirt! That was according to a little girl watching him perform one fine morning. It had been just after a meal actually. He had gladly taken the compliment and hurried her away so her parents would start with their rambling apologies. They would only be feeding him lies! In any case- she was the opposite of something like that. Compared to him she was a bundle of fresh rolls coming out of a bakery oven while he was the rodent’s shit. Compared to her he was the scum of the earth and she was something that was a mark of wonder and beauty. She was a prize to be shown and he was just another story about pest control. She was everything that he was not and he was everything that a girl like her would not want to come across. She was just so fucking perfect. Well, aside from her stranger danger skills she was perfect. How fantastic was this? He’d run into a damn goddess among beings on earth. A precious unicorn.
“You really shouldn’t be out here at this time of night. And… so alone,” he explained to her sweetly. “What if a demon had come by? Or some harpy out of the darkness? They surely could have swept a young woman like you right into the air and torn your larynx straight from your throat and nobody would ever know you were trying to scream!” He widened his grin a bit. “Aren’t you scared?”

laying underneath the stars strung out and feeling great watch the red orange glow watch it float away “My, my, sweet girl. What are you still doing down there on the ground?”
Now that she thought about, Aurora wasn’t really sure. She knew that she should probably stand, but he was still so close to her she wasn’t sure if it was safe honestly. Her grey eyes could only watch as the boy moved around her, almost like he was examining her. It became uncomfortable for her to know that this boy was so close to her. When he moved behind her it only made her more nervous. In her chest she could feel her heart racing again, her breath catching in her throat as his chin came to rest on her shoulder. Grey eyes averted his gaze, not wanting to meet his devilish stare. Well, that was one concern but it vanished when she noticed something else. The boy had a strange smell to him, like decomposing bodies. Ugh, it was such an awful smell! Now the unicorn was actually holding her breath as she waited for him to move away. Never in her life did she ever smell anything so awful. In her mind she began to wonder just what he was. She couldn’t think just what he was, not having really been so close to someone else before, let alone a boy.
Finally when he pulled away, she discretely took a deep breath of fresh air. Her eyes watched him as they seemed to stare at her. Just what was he doing? She was so concerned about what he was going to do that she forgot about his question. She took a few more scoots back before her back collided with a rock. Her hands reached back, pulling her body to sit on the rock but not taking her eyes off the boy. From the sitting position she moved to stand, feeling her knees shaking below her.
As he began to speak, she grew nervous; her feet moving to have her take a few slow steps back. His scenarios began to frighten her, her mind forming the vivid images as he explained the possibility of her being killed. That smile on his face… It was giving her chills. She had leave as soon as possible. “Well none of that happened, but I’ll consider it for next time. As far as being alone goes it was only for a while. In fact, I was just about to leave when you showed up.” A nervous smile came across her face, heart racing as the fear began to build in her body. She had to get out of here, now.
Although this place was supposed to be a safe place, she knew that it couldn’t always protect her, like now for example. Here she was face to face with someone who obviously wasn’t the nicest person, at least in her mind. Who else would approach her by standing over her, then getting close and personal with her. Something about this whole situation just wasn’t right, and to be honest she hadn’t really been in a situation like this before. Her mind wasn’t really sure what to do or what kind of plan to create to escape. As of right now, her best choice was to talk her way out of it. “Well, I think I shall consider your concern for next time I come out, but I really must be going. I’m sure there is some place you have to be as well, right?”

YOUR TEARS DON'T FALL they crash around meHER CONSCIENCE CALLS THE GUILTY TO COME HOME ----------------------------------------------------------- And then the sweet unicorn girl had managed to pull herself up from the ground. It was an interesting process to watch. In all his life he had seen many people shake and falter underneath his stare but never in his life had he seen someone cower before him while he was still acting mostly friendly toward her. He wasn’t even chewing on decayed body parts or licking blood from his lips. All he was doing was standing there and watching her scurry up a rock to help get herself off of the forest floor. Surely there was hardly anything threatening about him right now. Surely she could pull herself together right? Oh, he thought not, he thought not indeed. She was clearly shaken and was easily pegged as that type of person. It was just hard to believe how horribly frightened she seemed to be. Such a nervous unicorn this was! He knew that they were timid creatures but he hadn’t known a single one to be as shaky as this one. What happened to her grace and poise? Did she even possess such qualities? They were things that unicorns represented weren’t they? He also suspected that most of them were a bit more put together than this. They could stand their ground and look damn good while doing it. Then there was this frightened thing. She could hardly stand on the ground beneath her feet so he supposed he really should not expect too much out of her
As she moved backward, he moved forwards. He kept on his air of confidence and sweet curiosity. Of course the devilish grin could never be found sweeping itself from his lips. That must have been the thing to usually taint his innocence and give him away in an instant. If you didn’t catch his scent, that is. It was that curled corner in his lip and tricky gleam in his eye that always got people to wondering just what he was up to. It also seemed to do an excellent job in making many feel uncomfortable while being under his stare. It was a quality that was both a blessing and a curse. It got him into and out of a lot of trouble with many things. Sometimes it added to the mysterious, bad boy charm he seemed to hold. Other times it only pushed things away and made them shake in fear. This girl was the perfect example of the second one. She obviously found nothing attractive or wonderful about him. She also didn’t seem to appreciate the attention that he was now giving her. Obviously she would much rather have him leave her alone rather than follow her all around. Not that her feelings were going to keep him from doing what he wanted to do. Right now what he wanted and what she wanted were two completely different things. And, as unfortunate and scary as it was for her, he had decided that he was going to give her a hard time. She was tonight’s victim and plaything.
“Oh, you must? But we’ve just only met each other,” he declared with a dejected tone of voice. His brows drooped and a sad little frown formed onto his lips, but he did not try very hard to make it very convincing. “You haven’t even told me your name. Don’t you want to be polite? You can’t just leave me here.”
He continued taking steps forward. They were slow and careful again as he made sure to keep from startling her completely while still so far away from her. Maybe with this one he would turn on his charm. She was a unicorn after all and one did not run into a unicorn everyday, did that? No, things like that just didn’t happen and he was keen to take full advantage of this situation. She could play along and give him an opportunity. Nah, what fun was that anyways? He always liked it when they kind of squirmed and shrieked a little bit. It made the blood pump fasted and everything felt more alive. Surely she would understand that. She may not have got the same rush or pleasure but he was willing to sacrifice her comfort for his entertainment.
Once he had lost more distance between the two of them he quickened his steps and once again placed himself behind her. But this time he paced around her in a slow circle. It was like a beast circling its prey, sizing it down and making it shiver. He wore the grin again as he side stepped just a little bit closer each time he made a full circle around the enchanting creature. He’d make sure that she was more careful about being in the dark alone from now while being so loud. Now she could have an example of the many carnivores that stalked her during the night. And he wasn’t even interested in eating or killing her. This was just a little game.
“Such a gorgeous creature. A little shaky but still quite the sight to behold. Hmm, just think of the creatures wanting to get their hands on you for more than that horn or blood. I can think of a few more things they would want other than your meat for dinner too. You could easily satisfy… other feral desires and fantasy.”
He was trying to make her more nervous now. He wanted to make more possibilities fly through her mind. He wanted to make her feel complete fear in him and see it in her eyes even for just a moment. Then he would either take it away or encourage it. You know, whatever he felt like doing with it basically. The desires he spoke of though really did not interest him. He had no interest in sexual pleasures anymore really. He had fulfilled many in the past and ghouls weren’t exactly known for their love and compassion. It just didn’t fit the bill. They were much better at putting a little fright into things!

laying underneath the stars strung out and feeling great watch the red orange glow watch it float away She could see it. That small glint in his eyes that lingered with trouble and mischief, it was there in those eyes of his. It made her uncomfortable and she knew that leaving now would be the best choice right now. His images of possible disaster didn’t help either. The idea of a harpy or a demon clawing at her throat, her silver blood dripping from her neck. The image in her mind made her stomach churn and she didn’t feel safe anymore. Maybe from now on she shouldn’t venture out alone late in the dark, maybe when the sun was still out. At least then she would have able to see her surroundings rather than wonder what was lurking in the dark.
“I know that we’ve just met but I really must be going. The later it gets the more dangerous the surroundings become. As far as my name I don’t think I should tell someone my name that I don’t even know. Besides, you’re more bodily able to defend yourself rather than me by myself so it’s probably better that I leave now before it gets any later.” He had to see the fear building in her, so she straightened out her back, trying to carry the pride that she still had left as she watched the boy.
She stood straight as she took cautious steps back from the boy. However, he moved to fast for her. Aurora stopped as he moved behind her. Grey eyes closed for a moment as she took a deep breath to calm herself down. It was quite hard to do that now that he was circling her. She felt like an animal about to see its last moments. Every time he came closer to her, that smell of corpses filled her nose. Oh it was such an awful smell. She tried to hold her breath, but it wasn’t going to help and she knew that she would have to breathe. Rather, took breaths through her mouth, trying not to let the smell affect her, but it was so strong and disgusting. Aurora was just mentally going to have to fight through it until he stepped away from her or left her alone.
Just how did he know that she was a unicorn?! Then again, it was quite obvious the more it settled in her mind. The blonde hair, glowing grey eyes, and he could probably smell her when he circled her or when he had rested his chin on her shoulder earlier. It was quite obvious to anyone what she was; Aurora should have known that by now. His compliment made a small blush rise on her neck, her hand reaching up to fiddle with her hair to try and hide it from the boy. However, his next comment only made her feel slightly awkward. Feral desires and fantasy? The flush filled her whole neck, touching the base of her jaw line. She hadn’t thought about that before. Sure people might want to kill her for the things she could provide, but leaving her alive for something like feral desire, that was an incident she hadn’t even considered.
“Well thank you for your compliment but um, feral desires and fantasy isn’t my cup of tea and it doesn’t really appeal to me. But as far as everything else goes I make sure to keep a safe eye on that.” She stepped away from the ghoul, turning to face him so he was in her line of sight. “Look, I’m sure you’re a nice person and all but I really think that I should get somewhere safe before the night continues on. I might have been lucky running into you, but I think you’re right. I don’t really know what’s out here and I’m probably lucky to be alive right now, but I think I’ve learned my lesson.”
Something about all this just didn’t settle well with Aurora. It was hard to tell just what this boy actually wanted. For all she knew, he could have just been messing with her head for his own enjoyment, or he might actually be building to something else. Maybe attacking her… God she hoped he wasn’t the one who wanted to satisfy his feral desire and fantasy. That would be worse than actually being attacked, in her mind at least. Her feet took a step back, hoping that maybe she might be able to scamper away before something else could happen.

YOUR TEARS DON'T FALL they crash around meHER CONSCIENCE CALLS THE GUILTY TO COME HOME ----------------------------------------------------------- Ha-ha, poor scared unicorn! She really thought that she could escape from his games that easily? If she did know she couldn’t she obviously still was not going to stop trying to get out of this slight mess she had gotten herself into. Well, he was going to be turning it into more than a slight mess. He was going to give her some kind of trouble. He wasn’t really sure how badly he was going to torment this one though. She already seemed scared silly so did he really need to push it any further. Maybe he would be nicer to this one. There was no harm in befriending a unicorn was there? Oh but wait, she already didn’t seem to want anything to do with him. She was already denying his presence. That didn’t really seem like the best of things to do; deny him that is. Had she agreed to at least give him a name then maybe he would have decided to be a bit gentler with his words and his actions. But she didn’t want to play and that made him want to play harder. It made her an even more enjoyable target. He wasn’t sure if she got that or not. Oh well, she was about to find out either way. This little unicorn wasn’t going to be galloping out of his sight anytime soon tonight. They were only getting started.
He watched the heat raise in her skin, turning it a cute tone of reddish. Oh, she was even cuter when she was flattered by something! Yeah, there was no doubt that this one was going to entertain him greatly. She was just too easy to get. She was too innocent and naïve. It was really exciting to have found someone like that. Usually he ran into some asshole hunter who tried to do silly things like stab him in the side or shoot him with arrows. Did they know nothing of his kind? His skin was practically rock solid. There was only one way to kill a ghoul. Didn’t anyone read stories? Oh well, made life that much more exciting for him as nobody could figure out how to get rid of him. This one would be the last one to even think about harming him too. She was probably far too concerned with thinking that he wanted to lunge at her and hurt her. She had other things to worry about than trying to do something to him.
“Oh, I’m a very nice person,” he assured her while he bowed his head, but kept his eyes up on her. He licked his bottom lip slowly, as a few thoughts crossed his mind. Then he rose up his chin again, as well as his eyebrows. He gazed down at her with a more thoughtful stare now. But it was replaced a moment latter with his usual wicked look. His lips parted to show off some beige teeth that quickly began to change the shape of something much more animalistic. “Hurry and run. That’ll make it more fun.”
It wasn’t really a dare that he was giving her. Now he was demanding it of her. Not with his voice but with the threat of growing fangs and claws. His eyes were also taking on a more animal look as the soft lighting around them began to reflect from them. If she didn’t run from him then he would be sure to give her a surprise to make her run. This wasn’t for a hunt; this was only for a scare. He wasn’t a hunter or a killer. He was simply a bit of an asshole. He liked to make fun with all the toys he had in the forest. He had been around longer than most of them so he knew many weaknesses and he knew many places.

laying underneath the stars strung out and feeling great watch the red orange glow watch it float away Slowly, Aurora continued to take small, fearful steps away from the ghoul, her heart pounding in her chest as she did her best to keep her breathing even. Yet it was quite hard when she was standing in the dark with a stranger who was acting quite strange around her. She wasn’t sure what it was, but there was a bad feeling in her stomach. It felt like lead was sitting in her stomach, and the moment in the area was going to get worse. She wasn’t sure what it was, but it didn’t sit well with her. “Like I said, I’m sure you are a nice person but I really need to be going. The longer I spend here, the more of a risk I raise for getting hurt or attacked. Besides, I’m probably holding you up in your travels anyways so it would be better if I just go.”
Aurora took more steps back, but what she saw next only made her even more afraid. Grey eyes watched in horror as his smile began to grow sharp teeth. Now she began to hyperventilate slightly, putting a great amount of distance between them. To her horror, she couldn’t stop watching the boy transform before her. He was becoming a monster, those sharp teeth and claws threatening to tear as her flesh and spill her silver blood across the green grass. Those eyes… oh they would be burned in her mind forever and haunt her dreams. She was sure of that. Now more than ever she was going to be extra careful when traveling Reena at night. This night had gone from good to bad in a matter of moments.
His suggestion she took to heart. Quickly Aurora turned on her heel and took off through the forest. Her blonde locks danced about her face and behind her head as she took off through the forest. Agile and quick, she avoided the rocks and trees that stood in her path. Now her heart was racing from fear and adrenaline to keep her body going through the forest. Just what had she gotten herself into?! All Aurora wanted to do was sing to herself and in the open space of forest. Well instead of doing that she was now running for her life through the forest trying to escape a ghoul that was transforming into who knows what. All she was sure was that it was a vicious creature. Was he really going to hurt her? Did he want to kill her? Or maybe tease her before fulfilling his feral desire and fantasy? Or was this all just for his personal entertainment? She hadn’t even looked back to see if he was following her, but for some reason her gut told her not to look back and that there was going to be a nasty creature trailing after her, possibly hungry for blood. Tears even began to line the edges of her grey eyes, wondering if this was really her last night that she would see alive. All she could do now was hope that she could outrun whatever it was that was coming after her and live to see another night.

YOUR TEARS DON'T FALL they crash around meHER CONSCIENCE CALLS THE GUILTY TO COME HOME ----------------------------------------------------------- The grin widened impressively, even the corners of his mouth began to split as the change into his animal for continued on giving him a very monstrous sort of smile. But what was really making that grin creep further up along his face was the fact that the little unicorn had went ahead and taken his advice: she ran. The ghoul would allow her to run for a little while. He decided to let the transformation take its time while he stood there in one place. His piercing hazel eyes were watching her with extreme carefulness as not to loose her. He wasn’t exactly worried that he would loose such a frightened thing but it was rather fun watching her take flight and pray that he was planning on sparing her life tonight. She was a fast one, easy on her feet, and seemed more graceful fighting for her life rather than bumbling around him and falling all over herself. Yes, she suddenly seemed to fit the unicorn title that she had. Her form was not easily lost in the blackness of the night as she contrasted against it. Platinum blond made for a horrible camouflage unfortunately for her. But it did make for an interesting show for him.
His limbs changed dramatically, twisting and shifting into something more canine. His ears enlarged along with the sharper appendages that were in his mouth and at the tips of his fingers and toes. Sandy, dark fur spiked out from his skin and soon he was on all fours, standing tall as a large hyena. Still he only stood, his eyes easily keeping track of her as well as his large, furry ears. He could keep track of her for quite a large radius and knew that he could eventually catch up. She was fast but she couldn’t run forever. And he knew that he could be just as successful at finding shortcuts and such just as easily as she could. She was blinded with fear and he was brimming with confidence in himself. It really wasn’t much of a fair fight in that case but it wasn’t his choice that she took the shoes of the pray and he fitted in so well with the predator. She could have made things sway in her favor but had not. So now the big brute was going to go ahead and take the name as predator and chase after the pray. She made it so much fun.
It was then that his hind legs kicked off and pushed him into action. The muscles in his legs first worked fiercely to give him a good running start in hopes of getting close behind her heels early. Then he could pace himself and keep behind her for a good while. You know, nip at her heels for a little while, pounce out in front of her and make her change directions. He had no intentions of trying to eat her, after all. He had no interest in feeding on her. He supposed she was too pretty to eat anyways. He would save that pretty hide for someone else to rip apart. Sure it was a tempting thing to do (to sink his teeth into something so beautiful and pure, that is) but he knew very well that he really had no need to do such a thing. What fun would she be if she were dead? Then they wouldn’t get to even play cat and mouse with one another! And this was only the first time. If she continued living, he would be sure to give her plenty of more little thrills here and there. You know, to keep her on her toes.
Catching up to her took some work. She was pretty damn fast! But with enough push in his muscles he managed to catch up. He didn’t get directly behind her though. Instead he leapt off to the side, getting himself on the other side of some trees and brush. He continued there running alongside her. His tongue lolled out the side of his mouth in an almost mocking manner. His ears were perked straight forward and his eyes shifted between her and ahead of him. He wanted to get out in front of her…
The ghoul gave out a sharp bark and quickly lunged out before her forcing upon him and swift transformation so that again he was standing before her looking human. He was sure if he was human there was less room for her to run by him anyways.
“Oh, you can do better than that, unicorn! But since I caught you, let me give you a name to call me by. I am Atreyu Parrish and whether I know your name or not I will always remember your scent. Oh and we couldn’t forget that face, could we?”

laying underneath the stars strung out and feeling great watch the red orange glow watch it float away For the first while she ran, she wasn’t paying attention to what was going on behind her or even if the boy in the forest was following her. All she knew was the fear running through her veins, her heart pounding in her chest. Somehow she managed to avoid all the trees and any other obstacles that came across her path. All she heard was run. Run away as fast as she could for as long as she could. The sight of the boy starting to change before her eyes was burned in her mind and kept replaying even though she hadn’t watched him change completely, but it was enough for her to see for her to take his advice to heart. Her grey eyes didn’t dare to look behind her and see if he was following her. However, she could only hear her footsteps as she darted through the forest avoiding obstacles that could possibly slow her down.
Aurora wasn’t sure how long she had been running for. It seemed like forever her legs seemed to carry her through the dark forest as fear rushed through her body. That’s all there was here, darkness. It surrounded her, hiding whatever dangers may be lurking in the shadows, just waiting for her to stop running. For all she knew, the boy could have still be standing there and laughing at her fear. He might have not even been following her to begin with but Aurora wasn’t about to stop or look back to find out. She just kept going, her chest starting to heave as she took deep breaths. How far had she run? Could he even catch up to her at this rate?
Footsteps, no they were too quick to be just walking. They were running, and they were gaining on her quickly. Aurora isolated her footsteps as she tried to decipher the ones she now heard. Four feet hitting the forest floor were running behind her. Was it the boy from the forest? She wasn’t sure, but she didn’t even want to know what it was he had been transformed into. Her legs kept going as she took deep breaths to keep her lungs happy and from passing out. The sharp bark caused her to scream, not actually realizing just how close they were. Was that the boy? Just what did he even change into? Aurora was too afraid to look behind her or anywhere else rather than ahead to see where she was going. She hated to see what it was that was following her.
Her grey eyes spotted him in front of her as he shifted back to human form. She came to a stop as quickly as she could, stopping only about twenty feet from the ghoul. Her chest heaved up and down as she took several deep breaths, her platinum blonde hair tousled around her head as it draped over her shoulders. Glowing grey eyes watched the ghoul, staying in her spot as she tried to catch her breath and stay on her toes in case he was going to advance on her. “Atreyu…” she said testing his name while she took deep breaths, “What exactly do you want? Just a good scare or thrill? Or are you going to kill me?” She was still slightly afraid of what this ghoul could do. However, his motives were unclear to Aurora, and that made her all the more nervous, unsure of what exactly his plant was for being out here this time of night and spending time with her.
