YOU'VE NEVER BEEN SO USED AS I AM USING YOUAbusing you, my little decoy. Water sloshed softly in the nearby well-a woman drawing water. A dragonfly buzzed by, and Eva fought the urge to kill it. A little sun amplified would burst it into flames, and she could watch the little fireball fly around until the last of its lifebreath was gone. But, no. She didn't have the energy or the conviction. So instead, she just stayed where she was, lying in the grass, staring at the flaming orb in the sky. It had no effect on her eyes, and she often enjoyed studying the solar flares and little oddities about it. She wore a sun dress, perfect for the spirit of Summer. She was barefoot. It was one of the few times she let her fashion slip, when she was home. She refused to chase boys in Chiyo. This was where she met him. The most beautiful boy in the history of summer was discovered in this very spot, doing exactly what she was doing now-lying on his back, staring at the sky. He wasn't staring at the sun though, of course. He would go blind. She had come and joined him, and set into motion the terrible chain of events that led to his death. She pushed the painful memories from her mind and focused on the sun.
It was a lazy day, and there weren't many people out and about. None of them knew her, of course, so none stopped to say hello. It was the first time she'd been home in over a century, and amazingly this was the first place she'd come. It had called to her, drawing her near without her noticing. Then before she knew it, she was lying in the grass, perfectly at home. A few of the locals gave her odd looks as they passed, but she didn't care. She closed her eyes and watched the circles dance behind her lids. She spread her arms out to the sides and breathed in the summer air.

----------------------------------------------------------- Khalid; a dense, thick, forest filled to the brim with mysterious and shrouded in an everlasting darkness wherever bunches of trees touched. It wasn’t a place with a lot of people, in other words. Most stayed away from the ominous shadows greenery. No to mention, there were many creatures who lurked in the forest that no simple mortal would ever want to find himself facing alone. Unless he was one of those foolish hunters thinking that alone he could pierce the heart of a dragon and carry its head home to show that he was some brave, valiant hero. Yes, off to kill the dragon. Easier said than done of course. Much easier said… Now how did the topic change to dragons specifically? Ah, maybe it was because he was one. Draco the dragon: oh how original his father and mother had been to give him such a name as Draco! Really, how fantastic and unique. Perhaps a name change would be necessary.
Keeping as far away as humanly possible from most societies was the usual goal that Draco the dragon had in mind. He didn’t always feel right in the company of others because of the title that had been dubbed upon him by his ex-clan mates. He didn’t know why he always assumed that everyone would see that written all over him. It wasn’t as though every single race on the face of Reena knew who the Devil’s of Libitina were in any case. And if they did they usually didn’t know of him. And if they did know of him well… they would already have been told he was dead a long time ago. Technically (or at least according to who he had been and who he had been associated with) he was dead. The thought made him snarl a bit, but only because he was frustrated with trying to sort it out in his own mind. It was too complicated.
Oh the joys of family, right?
The slender dragon was currently taking the form of a man. His body still lean and his skin just as rough and tough. His nails dug into the side of his face, while he shook his head to himself. He took long, quiet strides through the grass- wait. Grass?
Well what did you know? Beneath his leather boots there was green grass. But that surely could not be right. Only moments ago he had been walking through a temperature that had been better suited to the blood rushing beneath his skin. There had been the comforting sound of snow below him and his breath had clung to the air whenever he exhaled. Now there wasn’t even a tiny cloud coming from his lips unless he did use the one magical ability that he had been blessed with. His eyes narrowed and his body suddenly stiffened in attention. He tilted his head toward his right shoulder as his eyes began to investigate the left and then the right. There was no cold, there was no snow. How was that even possible?
The dragon man snorted as he furrowed his brow. Perhaps his thinking had finally burst a blood vessel in his head and he had died. That is until his thinking brought him to another conclusion- well, idea. Spring. Spring had her own sanctuary. A place where it could always be green and beautiful if she wanted it to be. Of course, hers was cold as any other place in Reena and here it was hot like the summer time. Now Spring was really the only other season that Draco had ever laid his eyes on and was also (strangely enough) the only one he had never really heard about considering certain complications apparently. But that was a long story that he didn’t even know all of. But maybe this meant that another spirit dwelled in this forest, bringing everything warm along with it wherever it stepped. Did he really want to meet a sibling season? Oh, the first had been an emotional wreck and tossed herself at him. Needless to say, it had been very uncomfortable to him.
Somehow he still found himself stepping into the awkward summer time of Chiyo. It was mostly curiosity… kind of. It wasn’t like he had ever seen a season overlapping a season or anything… really.
His nose wrinkled as he picked up the scent of another. For some reason it made him think of spice. It was hot against the flesh of his nostrils. A violent change from the ice cold air he constantly breathed back out.
“Summer…” he suggested lightly to himself.

YOU'VE NEVER BEEN SO USED AS I AM USING YOUAbusing you, my little decoy. She really shouldn't be doing this. It shouldn't be summer here yet-not for a long, long while. Yet it was, all thanks to her. The villagers hardly noticed, of course. They rarely traveled out into the "dark and scary" forest. They were afraid for their lives. The ones who did were themselves oddities, and never suspected her. They just thought something was wrong with the sun. They never would have guessed Eva as the summer spirit. So she relaxed, at ease in knowing her secret was safe The sun was warm and comforting on her face, chest, arms, and legs, and she smiled up at it. Her red hair fanned out around her face in a fiery halo. Her skin-perpetually lily white since the sun didn't effect her-reflected the sun's rays in a blinding display as she arced her arms up over her head in a lazy stretch. The warm summer days always made her want to cat nap. She was completely oblivious to any and all activity. That is, until he came along.
She noticed the moment he stepped into her little haven. She could feel his icy breath interrupting her warm breeze. She didn't know who, or what, he was of course, or even that he was male. She only knew someone was messing with her summer. She thought at first that it her Winter come to chase her off. She sat up violently, looking for the source of the ice. She located it and took in her breath. No, it wasn't Winter. Far from it, actually. There stood a stunningly beautiful boy-the sight of him almost brought her to tears. No, it wasn't because of his beauty, or the fact that his icy breath was messing with her season. She was moved to tears by the striking resemblance he shared with him. The boy she'd fallen in love with all those centuries ago stood before her, reincarnated in this man.
Shocked and afraid, she stood, one slender hand rising to her mouth. Her eyes gleamed with unshed tears, and she stifled a sob. Things had been so good-the sun warm and the grass soft-and now things had all gone to shit. She had to get away. She couldn't stay near him for much longer-she would dissolve into a puddle of misery and tears. She suddenly felt cold, despite the warmth of the sun. She turned and ran in the opposite direction of the boy, taking her season with her. She would not let another boy get the better of her.

----------------------------------------------------------- The plants beneath his feet and surrounding him begin to shrivel, returning to the state that winter brought upon them. The air around him came back to the temperature of the rest of their world, his skin easily adapting to the chill. Once again, he could see the breaths coming from him clinging to the air without the help of his own powers.
For a moment he stood there, his single word still echoing throughout his mind but now almost deciding that the sensation of warm summer being around him was only a figment of his lonely mind. But his ears managed to pick up some sound through his repetitive thoughts. Whatever was here had decided that it was time to leave. Either they had gotten tired of being here or had managed to catch sight of him. In any case- actually, there she went. From the corner of his eye he had managed to finally spot the movement. It was a woman with locks of long red hair falling around her and she wore a garment that would probably be a bit more acceptable during the warmer seasons. He really didn’t get much time to look her over but he had what he could see of her memorized before she turned and fled the scene. Had they been staring at one another? He wasn’t sure. He had hardly paid any mind to look at her eyes and hold a stare. He had been too busy trying to remember the rest of her. He doubted that simply staring at one another would have caused her to turn around and get out of there though. Maybe she just didn’t want to deal with strangers. Or maybe she didn’t want to be seen by anyone. Or maybe she was actually afraid of him. He didn’t find himself very intimidating in this tiny human body.
Now he was left with a choice. Either he could ignore her; let the girl be and simply wonder what was wrong with her and who she was. That was something that was always very easily done. Something that a cautious, bystander would do. Something that he often did until maybe a month ago? The adventure in him had died when his father had banished him. That spunk and spark he had so proudly carried with him had turned into a dead pile of ash and smoke. That encouraged him to stay in one place a lot of the time.
Adventure? Oh, he couldn’t. He couldn’t let that young dragon he knew was in him get the better of him. On the surface he was young, inside he was young, but he hid it well with his not so reckless actions. Nobody knew who he was or what he could even be if he tired. So even if he did fuck up, nobody would even remember it.
Really he wasn’t sure how that had inspired him to chase after her. He didn’t go by foot though. Draco wasn’t so comfortable with running around on his feet to find her. He was much more comfortable with taking to the air. He was a dragon after all. And where did people usually spot dragons?
With that, Draco took a bit of a running start and let the wings spread out from his shoulder blades. A few of his scales were tempted to break through the human skin but Draco put his full concentration on the pained transformation and made sure that the wings in his back were the only things to burst free. When he managed to get up into the air he stayed close to the forest tree tops, looking through with careful eyes until he managed to find the mane of red hair. His heart pounded with exhilaration as he realized what he was doing. He was chasing someone. Not something for dinner but an actual someone because he wanted to have answers. He wasn’t sure what kind of answers but the point was that he was taking charge of something just because he had the confidence that he could. It would only last the moment though.
He let his dark wings spread and glided downward. When he was only a few feet above her the wings tucked themselves away again, disappearing. He dropped on the ground ahead of her, managing to almost stay up completely with a slight sway and wobble in his knees. But he managed to straighten up and steady himself.
“You wouldn’t happen to be running from me?”

YOU'VE NEVER BEEN SO USED AS I AM USING YOUAbusing you, my little decoy. Leaves, thorns, sticks. They ripped open tiny slashes in her legs as she ran through the hostile forest. Bushes like groping hands pulled at her skirt, and she fought against low-hanging boughs of trees. The summer was wearing off in her panicked mood, and the air was growing chilly. Her skin tingled with the cold, and her breath came in puffs of moisture. The dropping temperature mirrored her falling energy, and her pace slowed. Her breath came heavier, and she found it was harder to move her legs. Winter. It was a sluggish season, much preferring to take its time and laze around, whereas Summer was a fun and playful season. The two clashed so violently, that when one met the other, it often left them both completely drained. Now, with Winter creeping into her very being, Eva found her energy sapped and her emotions frazzled. She slowed to a quick jog, instead of the all-out sprint she had been going, and ran straight into a man.
She fell backwards, panicking. She flung her arms out and felt something soft push against her. One bough of a neighboring tree had sprung into life-of her will, of course-and broken her fall. She regained her balance and retracted her summer, drawing on its power to stare the man in the face. Her eyes were wide, her hair a wind-blown mess, and she had a very painful, stinging cut across her right cheek. Her fair skin had been tinged pink from the blood flow, and small red lines covered her arms, shoulders, and legs. All in all, no way to be showing herself to anyone, much less a man. But none of that mattered. All that mattered was the man standing before her now. Again she was struck dumb by how much he resembled him, and it frightened her. The fair hair, the deep blue eyes, the build of his body. Everything about him screamed resemblance to the man. Everything except one thing: this boy was magicked. He had fallen from the sky and, though she knew not how, knew he had to have been either flying or jumping along the treetops. No human could do that. The man had been human-sublimely so.
"You wouldn't happen to be running from me?" What could she say? Why yes, yes I was. I thought you looked remarkably like the love of my life I murdered, and I believe you are him reincarnate, which is frightening in and of itself. No, no. That wouldn't do. No, she couldn't tell him she'd been running from him, and she had to do it in a witty way. That was her trademark, after all-if you must lie, lie with a smile. So she tried to pull herself together, forcing herself to look at him as a completely new being, totally apart from the boy she once knew. He was different, if only slightly so. His hair was different-shorter than she knew, and styled differently. His bone structure was basically the same, as was his muscle mass and skin tone. However, his fingers were longer and more slender, if only slightly. It was mainly his presence that was different from the boy. Where he had been warm and all-encompassing, this boy was more distant, and seemed more like a wild animal in a cage than a loyal companion.
With all this in mind, she smoothed her hair and clothes, plastering a small, confused smile on her face. She gestured lightly, as if she had no idea what he could possibly be referring to. "Running from you? Why would I be running from you? I do not even know who you are." It was the best she could come up with for now. Hopefully her body language would tell the lie better than her pathetic words.
