Well, my name is Winter Avalon Morte and I was awakened fifty years ago, forever stuck in the body of a twenty-two year old human. That’s right, I’m an awakened vampire. With my race that basically means I wasn’t born a vampire. Humans didn’t use to be such a common site around Reena, so I’m not a common vampire. I am also among the youngest of my race in Reena. I don’t remember very much about my human life, only that it wasn’t very pleasant at all. I was turned by who I though was the love of my eternal life, Aleister Nathaniel Sharpe. He was a very old vampire, and also very handsome, trapped with the appearance of a twenty-five year old Renaissance gentleman. He really could have any girl he wanted, he a whole coven of females competing to be his mate. All were frighteningly beautiful, with that incredible attractiveness that pulled you in and scared you away as well with their dangerous aura. Yet, he followed me around and promised himself to me.

So I was swept off my feet, and from what I can remember, I didn’t have much going for me back home anyway. He took me to the most beautiful ruins I have ever seen deep in the forest and ‘awakened’ me. For the first few years, it was awkward and magical. Awkward trying to get used to my new, powerful body and magical spending every second with the most beautiful man I’d ever met. Then more humans began wandering into Reena, and rather than hunt them together, he snuck off to court the pretty unsuspecting girls like he did with me! I had trusted him with my soul, so I let it go for a few years, brushing it off as nothing more than some curiosity he had with humans. Then I caught him with four young human girls, no older than twenty, taking them to our ruins. After much screaming and hissing, he confessed he was in some sort of competition with a rival coven leader. Another beautiful old fashioned male. Rather than fighting and scarring up their pretty faces, they instead decided to compete against each other at who could get the most pretty human girls for their coven. He even told me he and the other leader swap females frequently when bedding them gets boring. I was far too entranced by Aleister to even notice if the faces of the coven females had changed. Well after learning all that, I felt a cold, icy emotion wash over me that has stuck to this day, and I broke every one of those human girls necks and let their blood dry up. If there was one thing Aleister hated, it was wasted blood. I had to run after that, he was much older and stronger than I am and any attempt at fighting him would have resulted in my quick death. Though I am younger and weaker, I am by far faster than any in my coven.

And now I’m doing what the smart vampires are doing and living in solitude. I was such a lazy and indulgent vampire when I was in the coven. Now I am sharp as a razor, I can smell a drop of blood kilometres away, hear the climbing heartbeat of my prey as I stealthily advance upon them and see the slightest movement in pitch black darkness. I am stronger two, I can take on a vampire twice my age and leave him more injured than I. Most solitary vampires only stay so until they find a mate, I however, prefer to be completely alone. All males remind me of Aleister and how stupid males are anyway. I challenge any vampire I cross and devour every creature I find until I am full. Be it woodland animals, humans or unicorns. Everything is a challenge designed to training me until I can seek revenge on Aleister.
